The Arbitrum team proposed the BoLD protocol on January 6, aiming to enable permissionless validation and protect against delay attacks. The proposal has received overwhelming community support, with 99.79% voting in favor. The Arbitrum DAO has initiated an on-chain final vote, which will conclude on January 24. Despite the high approval rate, voter turnout remains low, with less than a million votes cast out of a possible 201.5 million. The BoLD protocol introduces innovative changes to allow anyone to challenge and win disputes within a fixed time period, enhancing the security and efficiency of the Arbitrum network.
